Our Programs

Three-Year Old Program

Tuesday and Thursday - $160 (2012-2013) per month (plus one-time registration fee of $75).  Morning class is from 9:00 to 11:30 and afternoon class is from 1:00 to 3:30.

Four-Year Old Program

Monday, Wednesday and Friday - $195 (2012-2013) per month (plus one-time registration fee of $75).  Morning class is from 9:00 to 11:30 and afternoon class is from 1:00 to 3:30.

Our Teachers

Our teachers strive to encourage and support the children to be active, cooperative participants in the classroom, to try new things, develop independence and to feel positive and successful in their learning experiences.

 

Wanda Fach

Miss Wanda is our teacher for the morning 3 year old class and has been with the preschool since 2007.  She has an Associate Arts degree and a Bachelor of Education with a Major in Music.  She also has her teaching certificate for ORFF and her background as a music teacher helps infuse the classroom with wonderful songs and melodies.  Miss Wanda brings a wealth of knowledge, caring and enthusiasm to class every day.  Both her children attended the preschool and now attend Sunalta Elementary where she is an active volunteer.  Wanda's hobbies include running, snowboarding and gardening.

Gail O'Dwyer

Miss Gail has been our teacher for the 4 year old morning class since 2006.  She has always known that she wanted to be a teacher.  She has a degree in French from UBC along with a teaching degree in French Immersion.  Gail has 3 daughters whom she coaches in a competitive soccer league and a dog who joins her for a run in rain or shine.  She has a passion for cooking, watching French movies and reading.  Miss Gail is known for her creativity, love of life and nurturing spirit.

Teaching Assistants

 

Jodi Durant

Miss Jodi has been working with the preschool since January, 2009 in the capacity of Administrator and Teaching Assistant.  Jodi is a graduate from the University of Calgary and has been working with children for over 17 years.  Jodi has a passion for child care and early education and is a great resource for information and experience.  Jodi enjoys working with Scarboro Preschool, especially the children.  In her free time, Jodi enjoys, camping, skiing, and shopping.

Gina Dawson

Miss Gina’s passion in life is teaching children.  Gina first discovered her calling in South Korea where she worked as a piano teacher in her teens.  Later, she graduated from university with a major in music and in education, and taught at her own piano school for several years.  From 2009 to 2011, Gina diversified her teaching skills by successfully completing both the Certificate and Diploma programs in Early Learning and Child Care at Bow Valley College.  Gina brings a genuine enthusiasm to creating a nurturing and educational environment in which children gain a zest for learning at an early age, not only about themselves but also about the exciting world around them.

Andrea Litzenberger

Scarboro Preschool is extremely fortunate to have a music curriculum for the 4 year olds.  Miss Andrea has been teaching music at the preschool since 2003.
